April is a special month for Myanmar people. According to the Myanmar Calendar, April is the end of the year and the beginning of the new year. The flower of April is daisy. Daisy flower meaning includes new beginnings, hope, innocence, fun, affection, and other sweet attributes. How relevant is it to Myanmar culture?

Let me first briefly explain the definition of a daisy. The daisies that bloom in spring are derived from the term day’s eye, which means that there is an opportunity to resume every day.

Daisies are not just a symbol of the new beginnings. It is also a symbol of hope. Even disappointment can bring new opportunities. As the saying goes ” when one door closes and another one opens”.

Another symbol is innocence. So it represents babies and children. It can also be used by adults in the innocence of daisies.

Daisies also symbolize birth and motherhood, as they are associated with the goddess of birth, Freya.

Daisies look simple and easy to draw. As far back as I can remember, when I was a child, I used to draw daisies. Easy-to-draw daisies make children feel happy and light-hearted.

In Victorian England, where flower symbolism was a popular pastime, giving aster flowers to someone meant you returned their affection.

Daisies have many meanings. Different colors also convey meaning significantly. The meaning of yellow flower is happiness, childish fun. It can also bring hope and good luck. If you want to make someone happy, give them a yellow daisy. Or if you want to make someone lucky. This is a good way to express your feelings.

If you crush someone, you can give them red or pink daisy as a gift. Orange daisies are good for your health. It can be used for healing and optimism. Purple is the color of peace and understanding. If you want to reconcile with a friend who has a misunderstanding because it represents unity, you can give a purple flower as a gift. The blue daisy is a symbol of long-term loyalty and trust. If you have a friend who is starting a new business or If you want to honor the mother of a newborn baby, you can give a blue-green daisy as a gift. The best symbol for a new beginning is the blue-green daisy.

At the beginning of the year, I think a blue-green daisy is the best. According to Myanmar tradition, the filth of the old year is washed away with Thingyan water to keep it clean and free of impurities in the new year. That’s why April, the fourth month of the year, is the most special month.

April is so amazing!
And Thingyan is very fun.

For the kids, they just enjoy splashing water on the sidewalk near the house. They also create new memories for young people to enjoy while dancing in the water. Others enjoy the new year in meditation camps and get through it by doing good deeds.

No matter the seasons change. Even if Thingyan is celebrated every year, April can bring a lot of joy. For those who are separated from their families and working, there are long holidays in April and they can go home. Now, a happy April has arrived for Myanmar.

At this time, those who intend to return home are preparing to return. Some because of the times; due to the financial crisis, they were not able to return home. It is not yet possible to reach out to parents who are expecting to return home. We had to hide in a room because of the silence of the festivities.

The days when the whole country laughed and danced happily were also memorable. Will the country be happy if there is fun all over the state?

One day I want to be happy in April.
